Long long ago, in a state just up the Ohio River, there was a place I used to celebrate Champagne Wednesday, every Wednesday. Times changed. I got robbed at gun point for a bottle of Trader Joe rose and seventeen dollars. Combine that with the possibility that maybe, just maybe, I was growing more responsible and my priorities changed. I didn’t really fancy champagne on the regular anymore. And then when I did start to fancy champagne again I gave it up for Lent.
Something has been missing in my life. I’ve got great friends, a great puppy and a great H. What I don’t have are those great Wednesdays where I pour a bubbly glass of Veuve, bask in the sunshine and just take time to appreciate life’s small pleasures. The quality “me” time.
Well dear readers, I’m here to announce Champagne Wednesdays are back and better than ever! I’ve challenged myself to get creative with how I spend my Champagne Wednesdays from tasting new varieties of bubbly and experimenting with food pairings, to discovering every restaurant within a two-state radius that has champagne quirks.
Cheers to summertime and enjoying life, no matter what it throws at you.
